‘Remember me as I as was not as I am’. A popular sentiment during times of grieving. Well, the family of the slain rapper Goonew, took that saying literally, as his corpse was propped up on stage at a night club tribute funeral.

The funeral dubbed the ‘Final Show’ was reportedly held at Bliss Night club, Washington on Sunday, and well wishers got more than they bargained for.

Phone footage from the funeral showed the embalmed corpse of the 24-year-old, fully dressed up wearing a crown, front and center overlooking the mourners.

The ‘tribute’ reportedly drew mixed reactions from the attendees. Some stoned faced and confused with the lifeless body staring back at them, while other were relatively unphased and danced to music in the back ground.

According to reports, the operators of the Bliss Nightclub said they were unaware of the tribute before and regret any offence that was caused by the incident.

The rapper is said to have been a victim of an armed robbery in March which resulted in his death.

The Prince George’s County PD has offered a US$25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the assailants.
