No Lie: Sean Paul crosses 1-billion YouTube streams for hit song

Internationally acclaimed recording artiste Sean Paul, has become the first dancehall act to get 1 billion YouTube views for a single, after his hit single ‘No lie’ crossed the mark on Wednesday.

Sean Paul’s 2015 mega hit ‘No lie’ featuring British pop star Dua lipa reached milestone this afternoon after gaining over 1 million views inside 48 hours, to make it one of his most successful songs ever.

This is however not Sean Paul’s first billon views release as ‘Dutty Paul’ also breached the billion-view mark as a featured act on some of the biggest songs.

The ‘temperature’ hitmaker surpassed the mark for his feature on Sia’s chart topping hit- Cheap Thrills which has over 1.7 billion on her Vevo Channel alone. While his collab with Clean Bandit for – ‘Rockabye’ has gone over 2 billion views on the platform.

The multiplatinum selling deejay has remained among the most in demand acts from Jamaica in the last 15 years and has continued to show his pull after delivering chart topping singles

Including his feature on Spice’s ‘Go down Deh’ single which also features fellow dancehall Juggernaut Shaggy. The feat is the also the first single from Jamaican to exceed a billon YouTube streams since OMI’s pop inspired – Cheerleader.

The Grammy award winning Deejay, who was again nominated for this year’s best Reggae album award for his ‘Live and Livin’ album is currently in promotional mode for his soon to be released project ‘Scorcha’.
