Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw continues her prolific form in front of goal, after netting the winner in Jamaica’s 1-0 victory over rival Mexico in their CONCACAF Women’s Championships on Monday.

It only took Shaw eight minutes to score goal number 10 in the championships against the Mexicans, after perfectly timing a brilliantly weighted free-kick by Deneisha Blackwood to head home the opening goal.

This early breakthrough spurred the Jamaicans to create multiple goal-scoring chances as the Caribbean team showed dominance over their CONCACAF neighbor, with Shaw spearheading those attacks.

The 25-year-old who is Jamaica’s all-time record goal scorer with 52 goals, came agonizingly close adding her 53rd, however, was denied by the post after chipping the on-rushing Mexico keeper from just outside the box.

The Manchester City Women’s Striker who averages two goals per game has strengthened her chances for the Golden boot award, having crossed into double-digit figures in the tournament.

Player of the match Shaw, also seems destined to again be listed among the best IX team of the week, following a great opening second-round performance.

She will have the opportunity to add to her record very soon as the Girls take on the US on Thursday, July 7 before facing Haiti on July 11.
