The Narcotics Police Division seized a total 2500 pounds of ganja with an estimated street value of $460 million during an operation in the district of Bethany on Friday.

It is understood that a team of officers affiliated with the Narcotics department conducted a routine operation at a house in the Bethany district on Friday and seized several bags of compressed ganja.

Further reports also indicate that the seized paraphernalia was being prepared for the export market. So far, no suspects have been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Meanwhile, the Narcotics police have also outlined that Friday’s drug seizure is a significant dent in the guns for drugs trade along the southwest coast of Jamaica.

Earlier this year, lawmen seized over 1000 pounds of compressed ganja in Black River, St Elizabeth.

Reports indicate that on Tuesday May 10, a truck driver was signaled to stop by lawmen on the Fullerswood main road.

Upon doing so, Lawmen discovered several bags of compressed ganja concealed under grass. The suspect however fled the scene.
