The much-hyped return of noted Dancehall event Sting ended in an anti-climactic and chaotic manner following its recent hosting at the Grizzly’s plantation Cove Monday.
The annual Boxing Day stage show which was making its return after a seven-year hiatus christened its new location with an all-too-familiar theme controversy.
The event dubbed the greatest one-night dancehall show on earth, the event’s climax was prematurely ended following a back scuffle reportedly between entourages of the different acts.
The incident occurred in the early morning of Tuesday (December, 27) during what seemed to segment young acts segment where a super congested stage at Grizzly’s was packed with artistes and their crews
Whilst it remains unclear which camps the alleged entourages are affiliated with, videos circulating online show several persons scattering, while security personnel attempt to contain a potentially dangerous situation.
The two persons are seen being detained while the seemingly confused crowds find to cover all while the very congested sting stage remained seemingly unaware of the chaos behind them.
Ultimately, more than a handful of artists were unable to either perform or complete their performance, as the plug was eventually pulled on the show’s less-than-ideal return.
Sting’s relaunch comes after seven years two of which would have been perpetuated due to the Pandemic, with the St. Ann location the first time a year away from its paternal venue in Jam world Portmore, St Catherine.
