A former Police Constable was remanded earlier today for his role in the fatal shooting of Tasane Christie in Glendevon, St James in 2013.
The accused, Romone Edwards, was charged with murder following an investigation which was conducted by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) in 2013 and a ruling handed down by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in 2018.
Reports state that Christie was fatally shot by the accused during a joint police/military operation in the area on October 10, 2013.
Shortly after the ordeal, the accused relocated to Canada but was returned to the island on Thursday, December 30, 2022, where he was arrested and charged with the murder.
Meanwhile, the accused will remain behind bars until his next court hearing. However, his attorneys requested January 6, 2023, for the purpose of a bail application.
