Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo is now on his way to Germany following a shock deadline-day loan move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
According to reports, Cancelo’s move will last the rest of the season with a reported €70 million option to buy the world cup player.
The 28-year-old’s move is arguably the shock transfer of the final day’s proceedings thus far given his consistent playing time on the pitch by Pep Guardiola as well as his role in their title being on the line.
While there have been no reported falling out between the premier league winner and club manager Guardiola given the recent sale of former defender Oleksandr Zinchenko to league leader Arsenal, it does raise a few eyebrows.
‘City’ has yet to utilize the January transfer market and seems content for now however with a few hours remaining until it’s close at midnight it remains to wait and see the stage for the tactical maneuvering of the clubs.
