Soca star Kes and his band have released a new single titled, “Banga,” a love song for that special woman.
In a SLEEK exclusive Kes explained how the song was created and is related to Jamaica.
Kes stated, “Banga in the context of the song can be anything you want it to be.” However, he kicks off the lyrics saying how much he has been missing his ‘baby’ and how much he misses her loving.
Throughout the song, Kes is heard singing to a woman and expressing his love for her, and telling her how ‘divine’ she is, as she is the only one he has eyes for.
Kes told SLEEK ent that the song came about “during a fun writing session” he and his team had in Jamaica recently and this is where the word “Banga” came from.
While the official music video is in the works, the song is part of a bigger project to come. The song was produced by Tano out of Trinidad.
The Trini-based artiste and musician said that he and his band’s upcoming album “ Man with No Door “ is scheduled for release in early 2024.
Meanwhile, Kes will share the stage at the ‘One Fine Day’ festival in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 9, with Sting, Shaggy, Koffee, and others.
