Concerns about the health of Women’s 200m World Champion Shericka Jackson have mounted after she pulled up 15 metres from the line to finish eighth in 36.29s at the Gyulai István Memorial in Hungary on Tuesday.

A comfortable victory appeared insight for Jackson, who led the race for approximately 150m before suddenly slowing down with a grimace metres before the finish.

Jackson immediately became the top trending topic online as fans expressed shock and concern over the reigning World Champion in what is expected to be her final meet before the Olympics in Paris next month.

Although she was able to finish the race, the extent of the discomfort or possible injury that compelled her to pull up remains unclear.

Jackson, the second fastest woman ever, over the distance, is the heavy favourite to claim gold in Paris.
