Pop star Miley Cyrus is reportedly being sued for Copyright infringement for allegedly copying Bruno Mars on her Grammy-winning hit song “Flowers.“

According to reports, the suit was brought against Cyrus by Tempo Music Investments, a company claiming it owns a share of the copyright for Bruno’s 2013 hit “When I Was Your Man.”

It’s alleged that Cyrus’s song “Flowers” shared a distinctly similar cadence to aspects of Mars’s track.

The suit claims the melody, harmony and chorus in “Flowers” are significantly similar to the verse in “When I Was Your Man,” with both songs seemingly sharing the same chord progression of the lyrics.

It’s further reported that the company is not only seeking monetary compensation but also to block Cyrus from distributing and performing the song.

Cyrus has yet to comment on the matter at the time of reporting.

“Flowers“, which debuted atop the Billboard charts in 2023, also saw Cyrus win big at the 2024 Grammys after bagging both “Record of the Year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance.”
