Dancehall star Popcaan has added another music certification to his ever-expanding catalogue as his collaboration with British R&B singer Jorja Smith for their 2020 hit “Come Over” officially went Gold in the UK.

The collab, which earned its first certification (Silver) a year after its release in 2021, was confirmed Gold status on Friday, for registered sales of 400,000 units in the UK.

The Dre-Skull-produced dancehall-infused track has been a playlist favourite among over the especially within the British Market, evidenced in its new certification, with the track also pulling solid streams on YouTube, amassing more than 20 collective streams, 17 of which are from her channel alone.

“Come Over’s” update is Popcaan’s second Brit-certified award this year, after his 2018 hit “My Type” was verified silver in April, adding to his impressive list of plaques in the UK, reaffirming his status as one of the most commercially successful Reggae/Dancehall acts in the UK.
