Dancehall star Dexta Daps underscored his increasingly commanding presence on the international scene as his 2015 smash “Shabba Madda Pot” was officially Certified silver for registered sales equivalent to 200,000 units in the UK.
The single, which was an instant radio smash following its release, was officially verified with the certification on Friday.

The Daseca-produced track, one of Daps’ many notable hits, showcased the versatility of the Seaview Gardens native as a formidable lyricist in his DJ element. Known for his smooth vocals with mesmerising delivery of serenades for the ladies.
“Shabba Madda Pot“, which was on the defensive gritty side, instantly captivated listeners with lyrical wit, sharp punchlines cradled in an equally compelling melodic flow, expertly merging the best of both worlds, making the track a memorable hit which has since become a dancehall classic with more than 24 million streams on YouTube.
Given its level of acclaim over the years within the dancehall, the certification further underlines its classic status with continued streams among newer audiences.
The certification comes weeks following the reveal that his hit “Morning Love“ ( also DASECA-produced) was among the samples used in Platinum-selling pop star Lorde’s recently released album “Virgin” on the track “Current Affairs“, adding to the progressively expanding mainstream and diverse allure of the Jamaican hitmaker.
