Dancehall star Alkaline is proving he still has a key to the charts, as his latest single, “Key Man,” becomes the number one downloaded song in Reggae on iTunes.

The Independence Day drop immediately drew attention upon its release, with fans commenting not only about the lyricism but also engaging in discourse around speculative shade, which undoubtedly further boosted the excitement of the single.

The attention has reflected in the numbers with “Keyman” closing in over 300,000 YouTube streams in its first two days, which would rank it among the top trending releases on the platform.

“Key Man” is the latest in a series of fresh releases by Alkaline in recent times, as he seemingly shifted focus to continuing his supply of consistent drops of new music to fans following a period of comparatively scarce releases.
