Former double Olympic sprint silver medalist Yohan Blake, turned back the clock literally to come out victorious in the TrueAthletes Classic in Leverkusen, Germany on Sunday.

Blake, posted 9.96 seconds, his fourth sub-ten time of the season to also turn back his challengers as he brushed off a disappointing World Championships.

The Jamaican’s clocking was just outside the 9.93s meet record set by Ivory Coast’s Arthur in 2019.

Despite being way off his season’s best of 9.85 seconds which was set at the National Championships in June, Blake looked comfortable in his win over USA’s Cravont Charleston, who was second in 10.12s

Jeremiah Azu of Great Britain was just third in 10.16 seconds.

Former World Championship medalist Kimberly Williams was also a winner on the day as she took gold in the women’s Tripple Jumper.

Williams hoped stepped and leaped to a victory distance of 13.92m to take the event honors in Germany.

Olympic 110 hurdles finalist Damion Thomas also added podium status for the Jamaicans after clinching the second spot event after posting 13.46 seconds to finish runner-up to Eric Edwards of the US, who stopped the clock at 13.40 seconds for the victory.
