The sign-ups to fast rising social media platform BlueSky surged to a new milestone of 20 million users on Tuesday as it continues to capitalise on the post-US election mass migration from rival app X (Formerly Twitter).
According to reports, the user count represents a 519% jump compared with the first 10 months of the year as the app, which has continiues to be the preferred alternative for users among the exodus from the Elon Musk-led X.
Several users and celebrities have announced their departure from X in the past week, citing a myriad of reasons, including protests against CEO Musk, who has been one the biggest advocates for Trump’s return to power.
Bluesky was created by Twitter Co-founder and fomer Ceo Jack Dorsey and was which was a launched in 2019 as reaserch inniative before going fully into social media.
