Philanthropist and Fashion Designer Cedella Marley was named as the 2022 American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) International Humanitarian Awardee for outstanding contributions, dedication and to service in Jamaica.

Cedella, the first child born to Bob and Rita Marley was honored at the Hummingbird Gala on Friday September 23, 2022, at New York’s Plaza Hotel.

She expressed her gratitude via social media post following the ceremony in New York.

“I am honored to receive the 2022 International Humanitarian Award from @afjcares …. last night was magic ✨” she shared in an Instagram post.

  “Many thanks to everyone who came together at the Hummingbird Gala to raise money for all the causes closest to my heart ❤️” she added before big-ups to members of her family and the New York Mayor

 “Special shout-out to Mayor Eric Adams, @skipmarley, @romarley, the members of the AFJ, @chungcaron, @weharts, and my mom @officialritamarley”

Cedalla who heads the Bob Marley Group of Companies has been instrumental in several noble causes including raising capital and facilitating the sponsorship for the Reggae Girlz football team.

Son; Reggae Singer Skip Marley along with her brother Rohan Marley was also in attendance at the ceremony. Skip also treated the guests on hand with special performance to mark the occasion of honour for his mother.
