Chronixx’s critically acclaimed “Exile” album continues to attract global praise after being selected as the number one album released by a Caribbean act in 2025 by the team at Billboard/Hip-hop.

The project, which heralded Chronixx’s official musical return after a nearly decade-long hiatus from recording, following its release in October, marked a more introspective, deeply thoughtful and meditative vibe which proved to be sound track of hope and solace for many during the passage of the devasting hurrincane Mellissa.

Exile’s impact and cultural significance saw it earn high praises from the Billboard selectors, who have ranked the project number one over “Debi Tirar Mas Fotos” by Latin Music Mega star Bad Bunny, who was second in the list.

Chronixx was one of six Jamaicans who dominated the ranking, which includes Lila Iké for her Grammy-nominated “Treasure Self Love”, which was the third-best album on the list and the Unrully boss Popcaan for his “Nothing without God” project, listed at number seven.

Talented music sensation Armanni also made a timely impact on the Billboard team with his recently released debut album The Impact, slipping on the list at number eight as a solid release by the ultra-versatile singer, who is expected to make waves with his fuse of Dancehall and R&B styles pallatable to the younger generations.

Fellow Singer D’Yani also made the list of top releases with the project “Muse”. An intoxicating composition of soulful storytelling carried over by commanding, yet smooth and sultry vocals that retain the ears of his ever-expanding global female fan base.

Singer Aiesha with Reggae Doll, and Royal Blu with Spain Root also delivered solid drops at number nine and five, respectively, with Soca legend Machel Montano upping the variety to the list, with his “One Degree Hotter” drop at number six to complete the Caribbean’s best release as per Billboard’s staff.
