The planned Friday release of the first posthumous single of late former One Direction band member Liam Payne, “Do No Wrong,” has been scrapped following online scrutiny about the timing of the drop.

The track’s producer, Sam Pounds, who announced the release of the single on November 1, on Monday, updated fans about the indefinite hold on the release, noting that he” wanted to leave those Liberties up to all the family members” via his Twitter account.

The initial announcement was met with mixed reactions online, with many users questioning the suddenness of the release following the singer’s untimely passing earlier this month.

Payne, who was part of the Pop Boy group One Direction, died on October 17 after falling from a hotel Balcony in Argentina.
