Dancehall’s prefect Popcaan continues to affirm his authority in the international landscape after reportedly landing a platinum plaque for his single ‘Good Times’.
It’s understood that the Jamie xx-produced track which also features rapper Young Thug has crossed the platinum barrier in Canada for sales exceeding 200,000 in that country.
The track which was released in 2015 had previously logged gold status in the US for the equivalent of sales of 500,000 copies sold in that country according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2021.
The single had earned steady success upon its 2015 release including being part of NBA Live 16 and NBA 2K17 playlist and also for Kobe Bryants MyCareer spot.
The track which is understood to have been Popcaan’s first gold certification in the US, had earned silver status in UK for the earning the equivalent of 200,000 certified sales in England according to British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
He’s also said to have silver certifications for features on Naughty Boy’s “Should’ve Been Me,” and summer smash “I’m In Control” featuring Aluna George.
The OVO signed artiste has steadily risen to become among the most recognizable dancehall figures globally and among the go-too personalities for solid features.
