Jamaica’s Mixed 4X400m relay team progressed to the final after finishing third in their heat at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games a short while ago.

With the first three from each heat and the two fastest non-automatic qualifiers earning a spot in the final, the Jamaican quartet of Sean Bailey, Junelle Bromfield, Stacy-Ann Williams and Karayme Bartley did enough to secure an automatic spot from heat two in 3:11.76.

The heat was won by Poland (3:10.44) ahead of Netherlands (3:10.69).

It took a fast finish from Bartley on the anchor leg to pip Great Britain on the line for third, but the latter are still expected to line up in the final.

With favourites United States being disqualified from heat one, the Jamaicans will be harbouring medal thoughts, as the team is expected to be slightly stronger heading into the final.
