The Councilor for the Browns Town division Kim Brown Lawrence was on Wednesday cleared of fraud and corruption charges by the Integrity Commissions.

This confirmation was relayed by the Councilor during the St. Ann Municipal Cooperation meeting this morning.

Brown Lawrence was arrested and charged in October 2019 during an early morning raid on the allegations that she had received and used funds from the Caribbean Maritime University to fix roads in her constituency.

Others charged includes Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) President, Professor Fritz Pinnock; former Education Minister Ruel Reid; Reid’s wife Sharen, and their daughter Sharelle.

Brown however rubbished the allegations on her Facebook platform citing that the funds used to fix said roads were allocated elsewhere.

“It is a rumor that I am involved with the CMU or the Ministry of Education. When the truth comes out about April-November last year 2018, you are going to say, ‘then a dat deh dem kick off the women door and frighten her kids dem fa 5 a.m. (sic) ” Brown Lawrence wrote.
