Reggae/dub star Lila Iké is reaffirming the growing mainstream allure of her sound as her collaboration with British singer Mahalia- “Pressure Points”, was among Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Fresh Picks of Week.

The single, which is in just its fourth day of release, has been among several reggae playlist favourites, with the video racking more than 60,000.

Billboard describes the track as an emotional capture of the” complexity of a love that’s both passionate and challenged by mixed signals, emotional distance, and the need for deeper commitment. “

While it’s the first entry among the R&B/Hip Hop Fresh Picks list for both acts, it marks an all too familiar presence for Iké among billboard selectors, having made multiple features in the Reggae/Dancehall category.

The feature also adds to the strengthening connection between Mahalia and Jamaicans acts, having previously teamed up with one of Dancehall’s next-generation stars, Bayka, on their track “Pick Up The Pace.”

A track which enjoyed addition to several noted international radio playlists following its release.
