A 60-year-old man has been charged in connection with the discovery of a man’s mutilated body along Salt Pond Road in Spanish Town, St Catherine on Tuesday.

The accused is Alexander Page.

According to reports, at 7 a.m. residents stumbled upon the body of Isaiah Atkinson, which had multiple chop wounds, and summoned the police.

It is understood that while police were conducting their investigation, residents took matters into their hands and set Page’s house on fire.

The accused was later taken into custody and charged for his involvement in the deadly ordeal. As it now stands, the accused is slated to appear before the St Catherine Parish Court on January 24.
