Dancehall stars Masicka, Kranium, Shenseea and Jahshii are among the major names to be listed in the latest edition of Billboard’s Reggae/Dancehall Fresh Picks of the Month.
Shenseea kicked off the cadres of ‘dancehallers’ on the list with her latest release “Puni Police”. The Stephen “Di Genius” Mcgregor-produced track is one of a handful of recently dropped singles to make this month’s cut.
“Puni Police” also marks the latest return among Billboard picks, with several of her releases selected, including their previous smash collab-Hit & Run, featuring Masicka.
Masicka, another returning resident among the Billboards Reggae/ Dancehall Fresh Picks, underlines his Midas touch for collabs as his feature on Kranium’s “Cut The Link” made the cut among stand out drops over the past month.
The track has been hailed as an anthem in waiting by many fans with its gritty yet relatable content about overcoming detractors. The single also marks the third collaboration between Kranium and Masicka, following 2016’s “Beach House” and 2017’s “Fire in the Rain”, as per Billboard.
Jahshii kicks off his major resurgence in 2025 with his link-up with Pop Style titled, “E.G.Y.G. (Every Ghetto Yout Great)
The conscious, reflective track single delivers a compelling message of resilience amidst struggles and maintaining hope and motivation to disrupt oppressive circumstances to excel. A solid balance in his catalogue that strongly resonates with fans of both Reggae and Dancehall.
Other notable inclusions among the latest list are Machel Montano- “Pardy,” Lyrikal- “Road Anthem,” and Nailah Blackman & Skinny Fabulous, “Forever”.
