A rare family moment in women’s football is set to take place this weekend as Hazzana Parnell and Remaya Osbourne are set to make history as the first Mother and daughter to play together in the Women’s FA Cup.
Hazzana 38, and Remaya 16, who both play for Hednesford Town, are set to line up for the second round encounter against Sporting Khalsa.
The pair have both scored and assisted for each other in past matches, making their FA Cup appearance together a rare moment in women’s football.
Commenting on the significance of the moment, Mom Hazzana said, “I had Remaya, took a time out, away from football, and never thought I’d go back into it,” she says, as per The Guardian. “I just stumbled back into the game. I suppose you can never really get rid of it; it’s in your heart forever. I used to take her along to games. It’s just amazing to see her on the pitch with me. It’s a bit surreal.”
She continued, “It’s a surreal feeling. To share the pitch with my daughter in a competition like this is something I’ll never forget.”
