Phil Foden signs new long-term deal with Man City

Creative Manchester City winger Phil Foden has reaffirmed his commitment to the club after inking a new long-term deal with the Cityzens on Friday.

The contract extension which was confirmed by the club on Friday, will run up to 2027.

Foden who had two years left on his previous deal also shared the confirmation of long-term commitment to the League champions via his Instagram.

The 22-year-old who has been a favorite of Pep Guardiola since receiving his debut in 2017 as a 17-year-old, has scored 52 goals in 182 games for the light blues.

“It’s hard to put into words how happy I am to have signed this contract,” Foden said as he reflected on his development at the club.

“It’s a dream come true. I have been a City fan all my life. I’ve trained here for so many years and I’ve even been a ballboy. “I love this club so much, so to know I am going to be a part of it until 2027 feels amazing ” he added.

 The reigning Premier League Young Player of the Season and PFA Young Player of the Year has already been making a massive impact toward their title defense netting seven times in 13 appearances with two assists including a sublime hattrick against “noisy neighbors” Manchester United.

He’s expected to be active on Sunday when they travel to Anfield in to face perennial rivals, Liverpool, in a keenly anticipated showdown.
