Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will be looking to capitalise on their advantage in the World Cup Qualifiers with back-to-back wins when they face rivals Trinidad and Tobago at the National Stadium in Kingston on Tuesday.
The Boyz, who currently top group C with three points as the only team to register a win in their opener following a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Bermuda on Sunday, could extend their lead to at least five points with a win at home, after Trinidad drew their opener against Curacao.
In addition to their good showing in their opener, Jamaica will also be buoyed with the psychological upper hand of beating the Trinidadians in their last encounter–The Unity Cup semis in the UK in July with an understrength team.
Victory for Jamaica could see them potentially needing just three more wins after that if other results go their way, to be among the top two automatic qualifiers from the group to the 2026 World Cup jointly hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Kick-off time for Wednesday’s clash is set for 7:00 pm.
