Reggae Girlz striker Melissa Johnson put on a Player of the Match performance for Nottingham Forrest Women as they beat Stoke City 3-1 in the Championship game of the National Women’s League Cup final in England on the weekend.

Johnson, who has been an integral cog in Nottingham’s dominance this season, was again an influential figure in their performance against Stoke with a goal and assist.
The Reggae Girl showed excellent awareness to tee up teammate Wellings with a delightful through pass in the goal area, who then slotted home for the opening goal in minute 29 before bagging a goal of her own in the 80th minute. That strike restored calm to their victory push after Stoke’s Wilcock halved the deficit after Wellings doubled their lead in the 32nd minute.

The result extends Forest’s unbeaten streak to 10 in all competitions with 9 wins and one draw spanning back to January 19.
