Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz will be shooting for maximum points in their final game of the Cup of Nations tournament when they face title holders Australia at the McDonald Jones Stadium, on Wednesday.
The Girlz, who were narrowly clipped 3-2 by the Czech Republic in an exciting matchday two on Saturday, will be looking to build on an improved performance against the host to close out their tournament experience on a high.
A win for the Jamaicans who are at the foot of the four-team standings could see them return to third should other results go their way.
It would also mean a first defeat for hosts Australia who remains the only unbeaten team in the cup after two games.
The other game scheduled for the day will see third place Czech Republic tackle second-place Spain in their final group game.
The result of that game could impact the overall winner of the tournament.
Should Spain earn a heavy victory over the Czechs along with a Jamaican win, Australia would be dethroned as champs by the Spaniards- via goals difference, as both teams would be locked on six points.
Jamaica vs Australia fixture is set to kick off at 3:30 am Jamacia time.
