Rising triple jump sensation Jordan Scott and 100m hurdles star Megan Tapper will lead the Jamaican contingent set to compete at the pulsating Monaco Diamond League on Friday.
Scott, who has been having the season of his life, consecutive Diamond League victories, will be aiming to extend his reign atop the standings with another solid performance in the French city. The newly crowned National Champion should be buoyed with confidence of continued success in France, having previously set the World Leading mark of 17.27 meters in Paris this year.
Another win will see him draw one step closer to his maiden Diamond League title as he prepares for the World Championships.
Fellow recently crowned National champion Megan Tapper will be among the major draws at Friday’s League stop in Monaco when she lines up in the women’s 100m Hurdles.
The in-form Tapper, who clocked a lifetime best of 12.34s to reclaim the national crown in Kingston, will be testing that newfound speed against a stacked field including Olympic Champion USA’s Mussai Russell and back-to-back World 60m hurdles gold medalist Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas.
Jamaica will also look to create some noise in the men’s high jump when Romaine Beckford and Roymond Richard take the runway, while the women’s 400m will see National representative Nickiesha Pryce test her mettle against top-ranked Marileidy Paulihno of the Dominican Republic in the half lap event.
