Entertainment promotor and music producer Cordell “Skatta” Burrell has seemingly hinted that the maintenance of security protocol was a factor behind the on-stage insults received during the Freedom Street Concert on Wednesday.

In a post shared via Instagram on Thursday, “Skatta” highlighted the rules and regulations around firearms being “Authorized” at the National Stadium venue, regardless of status or part security personnel.

Skatta and fellow Freedom Street Concert principal Josef Bogdanovich were on the receiving end of a stinging verbal lashing from the top-billed acts Popcaan and Chronic Law during their performance, who vented their frustration about reportedly being halted for an extensive time by on-duty security personnel.

Burrell also declared that he as the event promotor, was also subjected to the same protocols in which he sought and gained permission in advance of the show.

Burrel also noted the respective channels in order to gain permission for such lethal accessories inside the National Venue while responding to another comment.

While it remains unclear if that was the main reason for the reactions, Chronic Law briefly referenced having access to the events with his protection as a lead-up for his hit songs.

The statement comes a day after he shared a response to the insults he received from the Popcaan and Chronic Law, who vented their frustration about reportedly being prevented by security from entering the stage area for their scheduled set time.

Overall, Freedom Street, which was the grand performance return of Vybz Kartel after 13 years, was a massive success, pulling thousands of patrons, including major local and international personalities at the National Stadium and thousands more online during the iconic event.
