A 33-year-old man who is currently facing charges in connection with last December’s US$2 million drug bust has been released on bail.
The accused Dwayne Dewar who faces charges of possession of, dealing in, taking steps to export, and conspiracy to export ganja was last week offered bail on a humanitarian premise due to his severe medical complications; he was however ordered to report to the police three times a week.
Based on reports, Dewar was arrested on Saturday, December 17 during a joint police/military operation on Bull Bay main road in St Andrew.
The report further alluded that around 10:45 p.m., an Isuzu motor truck was stopped and searched.
The search yielded several pounds of compressed ganja which was found in the trunk of the vehicle.
Dewar was subsequently taken into custody where he was later charged in connection with the find. He, however, denied having any connection with the drug seizure.
