Former World Golf champion, Tiger Woods, made a commanding return to competitive golf in the 2022 Masters tournament 14 months after surviving a severe car crash in California.

Woods 44, who came back from potentially career ending injuries including, multiple leg breaks which sidelined the 15-times major winner for over a year showed glimpses of vintage form which garnered world wide acclaim.

The world number 973rd ranked player, had some impressive puts in his first nine rounds including a birdie to end go 1 under par and 17th in the standings from a field of 90 competitors.

The 2019 Master’s winner participation was a mystery before this week drew much fan fare when he announced his entry into the competitions during a press conference on Monday and that fanfare has travelled with Woods throughout the green.

Buoyed on by the travelling crowds Woods was able to recover from some poor shots including 123 yards put which, he mis-judged judged for a birdie after it fell 31 yards off to end that hole on two-put par on the 15th.

With his recovery he was ale to move up joint nineth on the standings five shots behind leader Cameron Smith of Australia who has had a brilliant game thus far, having hit, 6 under par. He’s also closely marshalled by South Korea’s Sung-Jae who’s currently in second with 4 under par.

The Masters competition which runs from April 7-10 is set to continue tomorrow  Augusta National Golf Course.
