Dancehall star Beenie Man has seemingly caught the ire of many Trinidadians following his less-than-ideal comments on why he doesn’t eat the popular local meal “Doubles”.

“Doubles”, a mix of seasoned chickpeas(mainly curry) and other spices wrapped in freshly baked flatbread, is a popular delicacy in Trinidad and Tobago.

The “Sim Sima” hitmaker, however, shared that he no longer eats the meal after seeing a street dog was trying to feed it to refuse to eat the popular meal during a recent interview with US-based entertainment podcast “Drink Champs.”

Comments that Trinidadians didn’t take too kindly and made feelings known online, with many reactions ranging from humour to a more stern expression of disappointment.
