“Veekle,” Jamaica’s newest car rental application, is turning the key for innovative game-changing opportunities for Jamaicans following their official launch at Hyundai’s Oxford Road showroom on Monday.
It was a full house at the showroom to witness the start of this game-changing app, which aims to revolutionise the tourist car rental space, opening the market for more jamaicans to benefit.
The idea behind Veekle’s inception is to provide a platform to seamlessly connect Jamaican car owners with travellers to the country who require hassle-free vehicle rental services.
Founder and CEO of Veekle Cherie Williams noted her frustration finding quality vehicles to rent promptly during her return trips to the island. This highlighted both a gap in the market and an opportunity to expand a business to help Jamaicans.
In addition to providing reliable rental services for travelers, Veekle aims to ensure Jamaicans have an alternative, convenient and trustworthy means of earning through its platform.
There are over 100 cars already signed to the company’s waitlist and several additional expressions of interest in being part of the service, which speaks volumes to the interest, variety and reliability of the rental app in Jamaica.
Game changer
Williams noted some attributes making Veekle a game-changer in the car rental space.
Among the interesting features presented by Veekle at Monday’s launch includes allowing Jamaicans abroad to rent their vehicles while they are off the island. Williams highlighted the opportunity the app creates for Jamaicans to convert an “idle” vehicle into a working asset, generating income while they are away.
No cap on vehicle additions
In addition to the flexibility of all-island renting, there is currently no cap on the number of vehicles per owner, which expands the earning capacity of locals to benefit from an in-demand rental space.
The launch saw several personalities across various aspects of society in attendance, such as Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries Floyd Green and Opposition Spokesperson on Finance Julian Robinson among those who came in support of the innovative launch.
A surprise performance from Dancehall icon Spragga Benz capped off the event, much to the delight of the attendees, adding to the overall value and support of the Veekle App as an authentic quality-driven, Jamaican brand.
