Vybz Kartel has named Dancehall icons Ninja Man, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, and Buju Banton as the only acts in the genre above him for impact and cultural influence as part of his all-time top 5.

Kartel shared his personal listing while speaking Hip Hop personality Dj Akademics on his Off The Record podcast that premiered on Wednesday.

Kartel, who also included himself on the list, of course, noted the artistes not only annotated key eras of Dancehall but still represented the cultural potency and impact of the music.

The World Boss, who ironically had past disputes with a few names on the list at some points during his career, gave the icons their “flowers” for the impact on him becoming such a potent aritiste.

Kartel, who has returned as a dominant global dancehall figure since freedom last year, has also been placed as the face of the Reggae Category on popular streaming platform Apple Music, further underlining the mammoth pull he continues to attract following his release.
