An Indian woman is reportedly accused of tricking her husband into selling a kidney on the black market under the guise of funding their daughter’s education before taking the money and running off with her lover.
According to reports, the woman who resides in Bengally persuaded her husband to sell one of his kidneys as the best alternative to support their daughter’s academic endeavours as well as to arrange their marriage in the future.
The initially reluctant husband is reported to have received the nifty one million rupees ($11,500) from the procedure after months of searching for a suitable buyer, with the sale of organs illegal in the country.
Money which was given to his wife for keeping was later taken as part of an elopement with a another mate.
It’s understood that the rouse came to light after the husband filed a missing person’s complaint to the police following her disappearance to the police who tracked her down to a house in another province where she was confronted and later admitted to her deeds.
It’s further reported that despite being caught, the woman showed little remorse for her actions, doubling down on her choice to break her marital union.
It reported that her lover claims that she planned to file for divorce, accusing her in-laws of abuse.
Authorities have launched an investigation and are reviewing video footage of the confrontation between the woman’s family and her lover with plans to question all parties before taking further action.
