The upcoming Olympics set for Los Angeles 2028 is set to get out of the blocks with a bang, with the entire women’s 100m, including the final, set to put the exclamation mark on day one.

In a press release by World Athletics on Wednesday, the organisation said: “All women’s 100m takes centre stage on the very first day of Olympic action.

“All three rounds – including the final – will take place that day, ensuring the Games opens with one of the most electrifying events in sport.”

The event, scheduled for July 15, is expected to be among the most anticipated of the championships. will kick off athletics, along with the men’s 10,000m and women’s shot put finals, will also feature in the opening session,” the release added.

The excitement will also continue into Day 2 which will highlighted by men’s 100m final, which undoubtedly will be the most anticipated event of the Games for many.

According to World Athletics, the schedule was “carefully crafted to allow the maximum number of potential doubles – such as the 100m & 200m, 200m & 400m (plus relays), 800m & 1500m, 1500m & 5000m, 5000m & 10,000m, and long jump & triple jump.
